AD52: Ontario & Pomona Areas
What are Assembly District Delegates?
Every two years, the CA Democrats elect 7 self-identified females and 7 other than self-identified females from each Assembly District in CA as delegates to the state party. Those who are elected will have a chance to vote for the new party chair and other leadership. The race is hotly contested and will determine how welcoming, grassroots-focused and innovative the party becomes or how beholden it will remain to big money interests.
Delegates elect Party officers, endorse candidates for statewide, legislative and congressional office, attend the annual convention, network with other Democrats, represent your constituency, promote the California Democratic Party agenda, and vote to endorse resolutions and ballot measures.
You get 14 votes for delegates, 1 of which you must also vote for Executive Board Representative.

Josie Estrada Bell
I have been a Democrat all my life. I was a boardmember for Chaffey High school district from 2010 til 2014. I also been a delegate for AD 52 before and I would be honored to be one again.
I currently serve as an appointee to the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) of the Ontario-Montclair School District and the San Bernardino County Committee on School District Organization. I help lead organizations such as the Greater Ontario Democratic Club and the Inland Empire Latino Coalition in advocating and educating our community with resources to guide families and individuals to a better quality of life. I have also volunteered with organizations with similar mission statements. My experiences as a community activist has allowed me to understand the forms and mechanisms of oppression and discrimination and recognize the extent to which a culture’s structures and values, including social, economic, political, and cultural exclusions, may oppress or create privilege and power. My objective towards social change is to ensure that systematic efforts are put in place in diminishing discriminating factors.
This past year, I ran for School Board for the Ontario-Montclair School District. That experience widened my view of the many other needs the 52nd Assembly District must focus on to improve the quality of life in my community: public safety, quality schools, better representation in local government, and sustainable communities. As a Delegate, I have a unique opportunity to network with other dedicated Delegates to collaboratively strengthen our efforts as a united force to improve the lives of our constituents. It would be an honor to serve as your 52nd Assembly District Delegate.
My name is Martina Rangel-Ortega, and I have been involved in politics at the local, state, and national level for many years. I am currently the president of the Greater Ontario Democratic Club. I am a advocate for special education, I help our most vulnerable students and teach parents to do the same. As a community organizer I have been involved in trainings for parents with special needs children and other progressive causes. I am also a member leader of Communications Workers of America Local 9588(CWA). I have participated in various GOTV campaigns. I would like us to continue to grow our democratic values, improve our representation locally and statewide. We must engage our youth, our people of color, the working class, and our elderly to improve lives in the Inland Empire. I would appreciate your support.
Dear Democrat Activist- As your Assembly Democratic Delegate I will work to help shape our democratic party and fight for fairness, equality and opportunity for all. Our California Democratic Party leadership is made up of thousands of dedicated Democrats from all over the state and from all walks of life – and it would be my honor to be your 52nd Assembly Democratic Delegate to our State Party. I am life-long democrat and a resident of Montclair. During my time as a democratic staffer in the state legislatire, I have contributed countless hours, days and weeks tirelessly campaigning for California Democratic Party endorsed candidates all across this great state. I currently serve as Trustee in the Ontario-Montclair School Board. I was elected to a second term with the support of the San Bernardino County Democratic Central Committee. I have a record of common sense leadership and have received the support of teachers, unions members, State Senator Connie Leya and residents from throughout the Inland Empire. I would be honored to receive your support and vote. Please vote Alfonso Sanchez for 52 ADEM.
I am currently the Political Director for the San Bernardino County Young Dems. I was also the campaign manager for Stevevonna Evans, the newly-elected city council woman for the City of Adelanto. I have lived in Ontario my entire life (34 years) except for the few years I pursued higher-education. I have a bachelor’s degree from Cal State San Bernardino in Political Science and a law degree from Pepperdine University. If privileged to be elected, my platform priorities are simple: (1) Corporations are not people, reverse Citizens United. (2) Black Lives Matter, implement Police Accountability. (3) Diversity is great, Immigrants & Refugees are welcome. (4) Women are in charge of their bodies, my input is unnecessary. (5) Ethnic Studies should be mandatory to graduate any CA high school. My party-building priorities are also simple: (1) Increase DEM voter registration in the I.E. (2) Increase DEM voter engagement in the I.E. (3) Increase DEM voter participation in the I.E. (4) Increase DEM VBM in the I.E. (5) Defeat the Republican stronghold in the I.E. Please vote for me.

I wish to represent my District at the state level to voice the needs and concerns that many people in our community have expressed in the many discussions that I have had in groups where I am a member. As a Delegate, I will be able to exchange ideas and views with other candidates within and outside my District. These are critical times in our country and Great State. Thus, I will strive to strengthen the struggles and issues as Democrats that we are advocating for: Environment, Healthcare for All, Educational Opportunities for All, and Prison Restructuting.
My name is Roberto and I am life-time democrat. I have lived in the 52nd district since 1993. I have volunteered my time with GOTV campaigns along with my children because I understand the importance of having good representatives nationwide. We need to care for our communities by electing candidates that understand climate change, social justice, homelessness, and the working class. I would appreciate you voting for me.
Hector Martinez. I am a full time student at Chaffey College and President of the P.I.N.T.O. Club, which helps mentor formerly incarcerated individuals to go back to school to reduce recedivism. I am also honored to serve as one of the senators for the student body government at Chaffey College. This platform gives me the opportunity to be the voice of students needs and concerns. I am involved in other democratic clubs around this area.
